Logical thinking can be an acquired talent. Everyone can train up their logic through the steps of logical thinking – talk to themselves and debate themselves, constantly challenge, question, think carefully, understand the distinction and the pursuit of truth. In today’s changing workplace environment, you will never be eliminated if you do this.
The fundamental solution to the problem is “logical thinking”, which not only can solve the problem, even we often say “prescient” and “intuition” are actually forms of logical thinking, but because the vast majority of people do not develop the habit of logical thinking, so there is a lack of ideas to solve the problem.
Problem solving requires organization and logic
In fact, the most important professional quality that large company is looking for in the recruiting new employees is “logical ability”. This is because large companies have many departments, many levels, more collaboration, and high communication costs, so everyone strives to use the shortest possible time to understand the situation, or to communicate clearly, and these require logical ability.
Therefore, why does high school teach students to sum up the central idea and paragraph structure? It’s not about wanting you to be a writer. It’s about making you look like the kind of person you want from a big company to increase school attendance and employment.
And now it is also a trend to let children from childhood to learn the programming language. Not only because this is the industry trend or capacity development, but also to cultivate children the habit of analyzing problems and thinking logically from their childhood. At the same time, as they enter the future information age, they can have better adaptability and cross-disciplinary cooperation capabilities.
In fact, the logical ability in the workplace can be broadly divided into point of view summary ability (from material to point of view) and language expression ability (from the point of view to language).
So logical is to establish a causal relationship between the two things. Logic is like a domino. It looks like a stand-alone event, but as soon as the first one falls, the others fall.
Everything has a cause
After all, logic is actually a human self-psychological hint. We believe that everything has a cause. There must be a cause. We often say that someone’s logic is strong, that is, he or she established this causal relationship. The future behavior has a guiding significance, with a small domino, and finally overturned a big card.
In fact, many people think that they are not good at logical thinking and expression, therefore, learning to think logically has become a compulsory course for modern people. And before we do, we have to make sure what logical thinking is.
In fact, the most basic element of logic is “after the proposition, put forward the dissertation”, that is, “after saying something, talking about reason of saying that”. Let the argument be justified. In order to increase the logic of the proposition, it is also necessary to put forward a dissertation. If there is only a proposition without dissertation, it makes people feel inexplicable.
It is generally considered that logic is too leaping because the argument is unable to support the proposition. The reason lies in the tacit understanding that others understand, but do not stand in the other side’s perspective to consider the problem. Of course, we can’t be a 100% sure other people’s thoughts, but we can still double check other people’s positions. In this way, you can jump on where to discuss yourself, and then find out the logical blind spot.
Of these, the following four steps are worth learning for logical thinking:
Step 1: Overlooking the whole story
This is a very important start. We can’t just look at what we want to see, listen to what we want to hear. We can’t just listen to one-sided words to determine the root cause of what happened. If we do, no matter how thoughtful lying afterwards, there is no way to find out the truly effective answer to the problem.
In other words, we must cure the problem, piece things together, and understand the whole picture of the matter, in order to propose a cure for the fundamental problem.
Step 2: Identify specific problems and set the appropriate ones
If you want to have the pleasure of the light at first sight and to have innovative ideas, then it is important to set up the appropriate problem, because our brain will be based on past experience to make a variety of associations, and then lead to new ideas. If you are given with a range of unspecific problems, as if you have no targeting in general, then your brain cannot produce a specific and creative content.
In addition, perhaps you may encounter a lot of problems at work. At this time, you should not rush to solve the problem, but to think about the reasons behind these problems. Perhaps you can try to connect these problems to see if they have a common specific problem. If there is, you will only need a little effort in the next action to solve all the problems.
Step 3: Set the prerequisite rule (make a hypothesis) and confirm the prerequisite rule (investigation and observation)
When you make a hypothesis about a problem, you have to test it with critical thinking, and it must be correct in order for subsequent actions to be on track.
The reason for the hypothesis is that we are too used to taking things for granted and always think that we know and understand, but such behavior makes it difficult for us to jump out of our deep-thinking framework!
Step 4: Propose ideas, plans and positions
When you make in-depth observation scans about the assumptions, practice to work out your own ideas and opinions. If your ideas come out endlessly, you have to use the pyramid thinking architecture to collect these classic ideas. Pyramid architecture can list all your ideas, and also confirm that your logic is correct, in addition, can make others more understand what you want to convey.
As for the need to achieve a logical speech, we also need to grasp the following two levels:
First, the proposition has to be clear. If you advocate clearly when you make your statements, and you can make your claims fully understood by other people through the arguments and speaking structures, then your ability to speak logically will naturally be affirmed by others.
Second, the argument has to be clear. In the course of speaking, after the presentation of the claim, use the corresponding arguments to prove their views, so that the sentence is persuasive. If the proposition is not supported by the argument, then not only make the proposition lack of logic, but also make this into a feeling of pure lying.
In short, if someone not good at logic, then they will be lack of own point of view and will be easy to blind obedience. If someone is not good at logic, even if they have an opinion, they will be just seeking the rationalization of own views. The thing they talk will not be convincible. Therefore, only the people with both logic and opinions will be the ultimate winner.
